Walking the South West Coast Path

Post by Steve » Fri Mar 06, 2015 4:33 pm

In September of 2014 I took some time out to walk part of the South West Coast Path. I started at Penzance, walked around Lands End, up the north Cornish coast, then the north Devon coast and into Somerset. I finished walking in Watchet.

In 25 days I walked 279.5 miles or just over 11 miles a day. An average of about 1mph during the hours of day light.
56058 feet up, or 10.61 miles, or nearly twice the height of Everest.

Amazing walk , you saw some stunning views!!

Which part was the best for the views?

Myself and stepson might do a coastal path and be good to do a good one.

The whole thing is broken down into shorter walks on this website:

The South West Coast Path Website

My avourite bits were Penzace to Sennan, around Padstow, Bude and Hartland. All of it is fantastic, the terrain varies tremendously around the coast.
